In Times of Doubt..
I think it’s common for us to all to have doubts creep in. Either from a trial, or from lack of efforts on our end, or maybe just silly fleeting ones that come when you’re vacuuming your living room. I totally have random and fleeting doubts sometimes.

But then you have these moments in your life…where you feel and experience…so deeply…that you have no words to describe exactly what happened or how you felt….but you just know that ELECTRIFYING feeling is from God and from this gospel….a feeling that trumps all feelings of doubt or discouragement. No doubt can hold up against those feelings.
As I took family names to the temple on Friday and today when I spoke at SLC’s Halfway House (where people can go when they get out of prison), I again had those indescribable feelings and FELT that…..there is no way this gospel is not true and that this work is not true and God is not true and what we’re working towards is not true. It’s impossible.
I’m really grateful for those sometime rare feelings to help me stay focused on why we’re here and what we need to be doing. I’m grateful I have taken the time to write them down, so in the future when I don’t feel that when I need it most, when I allow doubts to creep in longer than I should, I am reminded of those UNDENIABLE times that I in reality FELT HIM through His spirit to bring me back.
You guys…I know it’s easy to get distracted or discouraged but I hope we always hold to hope…and I hope that we never deny or let passing time dim the reality of sacred experiences we have. But mostly I hope every day we take time to notice Him because He is always there and we feel Him every day more than we recognize. People say that can’t believe things they don’t see. But I see God every day through every feeling of hope, love, forgiveness, happiness, laughter, comfort. Because all things that are good IS God showing Himself to us.
We’re never alone & never forgotten.

“So before you make that spiritually perilous choice to leave, I encourage you to stop and think carefully before giving up whatever it was that brought you to your testimony of the restored Church of Jesus Christ in the first place. Stop and think about what you have felt here and why you felt it. Think about the times when the Holy Ghost has borne witness to you of eternal truth.” —Elder Ballard
